Mrs. Arias’ e-commerce and Internet practice has been enriched during 8 years of experience. She started as research assistant for the Director of the LL.M. in International Taxation at St. Thomas University, School of Law, in Miami, Fl. She was in charge of the e-commerce taxation research department for the above-mentioned program from 2002 until 2004. In 2004, she joined Internet Business Law Services- IBLS; an Internet company specialized on e-commerce and Internet law with main office in Irvine, CA. and offices in Brussels- Belgium; and Barcelona- Spain. Mrs. Arias has held several positions within this company. She first started as Director of the Latin American E-commerce Law Department. Then, she directed the American and European E-commerce Law Department until she was appointment General Director for IBLS and Editor in Chief. As Director for IBLS, Mrs. Arias’ main duties, among others, are managing IBLS Online Education Department; this department creates and offers online course and e-books on e-commerce and Internet law, and managing IBLS News Portal section. Through her work experience with IBLS, Ms. Arias has gained in depth knowledge on e-commerce and Internet law legislation.
Ms. Arias has participated as speaker in Miami conferences on the topic of Latin America E-commerce Law, and has published more than 800 articles on e-commerce- related issues in the IBLS database. Her articles have been quoted by many other Internet outlets, including Wikipedia.org. Mrs. Arias was the Chief Editor of Global E-Business Law and Taxation, a book published by Oxford University Press- OUP and IBLS in 2009.

Finally, it is worth to mention that Mrs. Arias’ beginning as attorney in Colombia, Latin America, started at age 21 when she concentrated her work in the areas of Civil, Labor, and Commercial Law litigation. She worked for 3 years as attorney in this country and was actively involved in local politics. At age 23, she ran for a city commissioner position for the city’s of Pereira Democratic Party (Partido Liberal).
