This week on Noticias 670 AM<\/em> with Aaron Glantz and Eduardo Alem\u00e1n, I addressed some critical immigration updates that affect many in our community.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

First, two federal judges, one in Colorado and another in New York, have ruled that using the Alien Enemies Act<\/a> to deport individuals accused of belonging to the Tren de Aragua is legally questionable. This law, originally meant for wartime or hostile invasions, is now the subject of serious court challenges. For now, the executive action attempting to use it for deportations is paused.<\/p>\n

Next, regarding the humanitarian parole program<\/a>, the government tried to overturn a federal judge\u2019s decision that paused the termination of the program. The Court of Appeals rejected that emergency action, so the humanitarian parole remains protected for now.<\/p>\n

We also discussed the Real ID Act<\/a>, which officially took effect on May 7. While it has been in development for nearly 20 years, it\u2019s important to remember that all travelers\u2014U.S. citizens and legal residents alike\u2014must carry the correct identification when traveling domestically. If you don\u2019t have a Real ID-compliant license, you\u2019ll need your green card, valid passport, or other official documents showing your legal status or citizenship.<\/p>\n

Many listeners asked if they should avoid leaving the U.S. under current immigration policies. My advice: every case is unique. Those with criminal records or past immigration violations should consult an attorney before traveling. However, if you have maintained a clean legal and immigration record, you can generally continue your life\u2014including family trips\u2014without fear.<\/p>\n
